Position Summary
The Florida Aquarium’s Human Resources Internship offers a well-rounded, educational experience working with our team of professionals. Supporting the Human Recourse Team, the primary function of the Human Resource Intern is to provide administrative support for the Human Resources department and plan and assist in carrying out various tasks.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Maintain records, reports and logs pertaining to applicant flow and recruiting sources.
  • Create a program and strategy for departmental conservation to tie into our mission.
  • Support organizational culture and strategic plan.
  • Assist with various research projects and/or special projects.
  • Assist with maintaining employee uniform inventory to include stocking and distribution.
  • Assist with administrative duties to include generating reports and filing (as needed).
  • Support with data entry as necessary.
  • Deliver extraordinary customer service to all aquarium guests and internal customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of Human Resources and/or general administrative responsibilities preferred.
  • Previous experience or classes with a focus in HR or Psychology preferred.
  • Must be able to work in both a group and individual environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think and work independently within a professional setting.
  • Highly organized; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Must be a college sophomore or higher with a GPA of 2.5 or higher OR up to 6-months post graduate with a GPA of 4.0 preferred.

Time Commitment:

  • Work days are primarily Monday – Friday from 9AM – 5PM. Days and hours are flexible.
  • Some weekend or extended hours may be required for special events.
