Sleepovers

Sleep with the Fishes

Ever wonder what happens at the Aquarium at night? Do sharks snooze? Do turtles tire? Wonder no more! Grab a sleeping bag to enjoy a wet and wild sleepover! Make a sleepover reservation as soon as possible as dates are limited and fill up quickly. Minimum of 15 paid participants.

Sleepovers include:

  • Guided education instruction by The Florida Aquarium’s team members
  • An evening walk along the Wetlands of Florida
    inside the Aquarium’s iconic Wetlands dome
  • Late-night pizza snack
  • Sleeping near the fishes and other marine life
  • Next day admission to the Aquarium
  • Light Breakfast
  • Sleepover runs from 7:00 PM – 9:30 AM the next day

Who Participates in Sleepovers?

  • School Groups (Grades 2 and higher)
  • Scout Groups (Ages 8 and older)
  • Organized Youth Groups (Ages 8 and older)

Additional items can be added: Patches, cupcakes, extra pizza, and conservation bracelets.

Booking Guidelines

  • Children must be at least 8 years old
  • 1 free chaperone for every 10 children
  • Capacity: Minimum 15 paying participants, Maximum 80 participants
  • $100 non-refundable deposit due at the time of booking. Remaining balance is due two-weeks prior to program
  • Sleep with the Fishes must be booked at least three-weeks in advance.

Adventures After Dark

Join our special activities without staying the night.

Adventures After Dark includes:

  • Guided education instruction by The Florida Aquarium’s team members
  • A tour of the Aquarium
  • Late-night pizza snack

Adventures After Dark Programming is available for the following:

  • School Groups (Grades 1 and higher)
  • Scout Groups (Ages 5 and older)
  • Organized Youth Groups (Ages 6 and older)

Build Your Adventure

Evening Activities available for both Sleep with the Fishes and Adventures After Dark programs (Pick 2).

Explore the inner and outer workings of an amazing aquatic creature! Join a knowledgeable instructor for a guided look inside a squid. Guests will use dissection tools to investigate a squid with their lab team. (all ages)

Experience what it takes to save a stranded sea turtle. Our expert instructors will guide guests step-by-step through a mock sea turtle rescue. Guests will also learn about required veterinary care and rehabilitation as well as the release process followed by The Florida Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Conservation Program. (elementary)

What makes a fish a fish? Learn about fish anatomy and then use this newfound knowledge to identify fish around the Aquarium. Plus, you’ll discover the important roles that fish play in Tampa Bay. (all ages)

What exactly is coral? Is it an animal, a rock, or a plant? Discover all of this and more with a fun, interactive game and tour of the coral living at the Aquarium. Learn about how The Florida Aquarium is helping these important animals in the wild. (elementary)

How well do you measure up to a shark? Guests will have an opportunity to compare and contrast human vs shark senses through a variety of games and experiments. This immersive experience will highlight what it takes to be the top predator. (elementary)

Ever wonder what it takes to operate a REALLY big fish habitat? Go behind the scenes and get an in depth look at our animal wellness program. Visit areas otherwise not seen by the public, like our commissary and reef deck. An Aquarium instructor will provide narration and answer questions throughout the tour. (all ages)
