Do you want to make an impact in your local and global communities? Join The Florida Aquarium’s volunteer team as they help support our mission to entertain, educate, and inspire Aquarium guests! Most training will be given at The Florida Aquarium, with some readings and online trainings to be completed at home. See information below regarding our youth focused volunteer opportunities in the Learning Department.
This program is designed to support the Learning Department during the summer. Applicants may choose to volunteer with AquaCamps or on the public pathway with daily guests. All Junior Educators serve two full days per week.
Applicants must be:
- Between 14 & 17 years of age and enrolled in high school at the time of the program start date
- Able to commit to a dedicated two-day-per-week schedule for the duration of the summer (June 1 - August 7)
- Passionate about working with children and/or the public and engaging them with conservation-based messaging.
Teen Education Volunteers support the Education Department on the public Aquarium exhibit pathway. Teen Education Volunteers may serve at interpretive displays sharing biofacts with guests, at our interactive animal touch pools, or other areas along the public exhibit pathway.
This program is recommended for those who are considering a career in education, environmental sciences, conservation, public speaking, or other related fields.

This program is designed to empower teens to take action for the ocean and the natural environment. Student Environmental Action League members meet at least monthly to discuss opportunities for teens to participate in internal and external Aquarium events.
Applications for SEA League will open October 1st, 2020. They will be due December 1st, 2020.
