Sea Turtle Conservation Program Director

Ashley Riese is the director of the Sea Turtle Conservation Program at The Florida Aquarium. She directs the management and specialized care of sea turtles, from rescue and admission to rehabilitation. She also oversees the development and advancement of new sea turtle conservation projects.

Ashley is a St. Petersburg College graduate with an associate degree in veterinary technology, and she also received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is working toward a master’s degree.

With more than two decades of experience, as a certified veterinary technician, Ashley has extensive veterinary medical and management experience as well as experience in marine animal rescue and rehabilitation. She has contributed to one published article on teleost medicine.
