The Florida Aquarium Announces New Partnership with PepsiCo
Tampa, FL – (August 15, 2024) The Florida Aquarium, one of the nation’s premier conservation-focused public aquariums, today announced a 5-year agreement with PepsiCo, a global leader in the food and beverage industry, to be the Aquarium’s exclusive non-alcoholic beverage provider.
“We are pleased to partner with Pepsi and excited to have our two iconic brands collaborate to provide an unsurpassed beverage experience for our guests, increase our collective impact in sustainability and conservation, and expand our business goals,” said Kim Casey, executive vice president of Business Operations and CFO.
Starting today, August 15, Pepsi will be the “exclusive carbonated soft drink, water (flat, sparkling, carbonated, premium, enhanced, flavored/non-flavored), energy drink, juice and tea” of The Florida Aquarium. Fountain offerings will include Pepsi, Starry, Dr. Pepper, Mt Dew, Tropicana Lemonade and Gatorade (including Zero/diet options), plus additional brands Aquafina, Bubly, Celsius, Rockstar, Starbucks, Lipton, and Crush in aluminum cans.
The new agreement underscores the Aquarium’s commitment to offering quality and sustainable culinary options that support its shared purpose to save marine wildlife, including the elimination of single-use plastic, and aligns with evolving guest preferences.
“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with The Florida Aquarium, bringing our beloved portfolio of brands to millions of visitors with zero plastic,” said Heather Hoytink, President of PepsiCo Beverages North America, South Division. “As part of our pep+ initiative to drive positive action for people and the planet, we are committed to supporting the conservation efforts of the Aquarium and of Force Blue.”
The Florida Aquarium and PepsiCo will also partner in several endeavors, including increased support for saving Florida’s coral reefs and bettering the Tampa Bay region as part of a three-way partnership between the Aquarium, Pepsi and Force Blue.
“As a global leader in coral conservation and sustainability, we’re thrilled to embark on a multi-year partnership with Pepsi to create healthy oceans, healthy communities and a healthy planet,” said Dr. Debi Luke, senior vice president of Conservation.
In 2021, as part of Super Bowl 55 and NFL Green and supported by the Pepsi Stronger Together initiative, the Aquarium was asked to join Force Blue in a community project which collected more than 1 ton of marine debris. The debris was then cleaned and distributed to Hillsborough County Public Schools and students created artwork which was featured in a temporary exhibition titled “A Lasting Legacy in Tampa Bay: Conservation Inspiration through Art” at The Florida Aquarium.
