Field Experience: Capture the Magic

Ages 6–14 

Photography at The Florida Aquarium is a hands-on field experience designed for students to explore the fun of photography at an aquarium. After a brief classroom introduction filled with tips and tricks, students will embark on a photo scavenger hunt in select areas to hone their skills on colorful marine life. Please note that this is an immersive field experience, and each student must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.

Field Experience: Boyd Hill Nature Preserve

Ages 6–14

Explore the diverse ecosystems and vibrant wildlife of this stunning Pinellas County sanctuary. Alongside expert aquarium instructors, students will embark on an educational outdoor adventure to discover the unique animals that call Florida home. Please note: there is an admission fee of $1.50 for children and $3.00 for adults. A parent or chaperone is required for each student, but chaperones do not need to register for the program.

Nature illustrations can be technical, imaginative, emotional, and more. Learn some important aspects of illustrating the natural world and then take a crack at illustrating some nature yourself.

Ages 12–14 | Nature Photographer

There’s more to photographing animals than merely pointing and pressing the shutter button. Good photos tell a story through things like composition, poses, colors, and more.
