Dive into Volunteerism
Become a volunteer diver at The Florida Aquarium! This challenging yet rewarding opportunity will enhance basic diving skills while giving volunteers access to incredible underwater experiences. Swim with sharks, rays, fish and other exciting marine life while contributing to habitat maintenance and more.
Dive volunteers will primarily assist with habitat maintenance onsite and environmental stewardship (marine debris clean-up) dives off-site.
All training will take place in our diverse underwater habitats. Most diving equipment is provided.
Requirements
Dive volunteers must be 18+, open water SCUBA certified with 25+ open water dives, successfully complete our dive training program, and make a one-year commitment to our program.
To formally be accepted into the program, volunteers who receive training will also need to pass the following:
- An AAUS dive physical
- An AAUS swim test
- A basic dive skills evaluation
