Spooky Season Splashes into The Florida Aquarium
Spooky season is splashing into The Florida Aquarium with costumes, candy, and creepy critters. From the return of guest-favorite Guppyween to a brand-new Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration, families can enjoy a full lineup of not-so-scary fun throughout October and into November.
Guppyween presented by BayCare Kids
Saturday, October 25 & Sunday, October 26 | 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Too cute to spook? Dress in your best costume and join the sea of characters at Guppyween! Kids in costume get free admission with a paid adult (redeemable at the ticket window only).
They can also enjoy an exclusive menu in Café 71 including: Uncle Fester’s Feast & Witches Brew Parfait Jars, and specialty drinks at the Cove Bar such as: Witches Brew and Purple Potion. This is available throughout the month of October.
Highlights include:
- Trick-or-treating trails & costume parade
- Creepy critter encounters
- Character appearances from Rocky the penguin, Tango the turtle, and Xochi the axolotl
- Costumed divers & underwater pumpkin carving

Sensory-Friendly Guppyween presented by BayCare Kids
Sunday, October 26 | 8 a.m.
No tricks, just treats. This early-bird version of Guppyween is tailored for families with sensory differences. With softer lights and sounds, it’s all the fun without the fright.
Tickets: $10 per guest | Free for Members
Activities include:
- Trick-or-treating
- Creepy critter encounters
- Rocky, Tango, and Xochi meet-and-greets
- Costumed divers & underwater pumpkin carving
AquaTots: Spooktacular Sights
Wednesdays in October | 9:30–10:30 a.m. + 1 p.m. on 10/8 & 10/29
Perfect for ages 3–5, these hands-on classes mix pre-K learning with Aquarium fun. Each week brings a new spooky theme, including “Myths and Monsters” and a Halloween party on October 29.
Cost: $16 per class for one child + one adult (Aquarium admission not included).
Monster Splash Spooky Tunes Adventure
Every Saturday & Sunday, October 4-19 | 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.
Get ready to sing, dance, and splash along with this silly, spooky stage show all about strange and misunderstood creatures—just the thing to get kids (and grownups!) in the Halloween spirit.
Día de los Muertos with Xochi
Saturday, November 1 & Sunday, November 2 | 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
The season doesn’t stop at Halloween! Celebrate the Aquarium’s first-ever Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with our new axolotl costumed character, Xochi, who will be specially dressed for the holiday. Discover
Xochi’s traditions from her home in Mexico City while wandering through the Aquarium. Families can honor loved ones, craft colorful sugar skulls, and enjoy festive fun surrounded by vibrant décor. They can also enjoy an exclusive menu in Café 71 including: Short Rib Tamale, Apple and Fruit Compote Tamales.
Activities include:
- Sugar skull-inspired décor & habitat enrichment
- Sugar skull crafts to take home
- Pet Ofrenda – bring a photo of a beloved pet to honor. We will hang it in our Aquarium!
- Family face painting
- Photo ops with Xochi
