Some of the animals at The Florida Aquarium got an early Halloween treat with festive pumpkin surprises designed for fun and enrichment. The animal care team celebrates the spooky season using pumpkins to encourage the animals’ natural behaviors. The seasonal snacks and playful activities provide important mental and physical stimulation, while offering guests a chance to see some spirited Halloween animal antics up close.

Cayenne, the tamandua, which is a type of anteater, used his impressive claws and long tongue to dig into the pumpkin and savor his treat.
Liana, the two-toed sloth, took her time exploring a jack-o-lantern while nibbling on squash—one of her favorite snacks.
Remy, Annie, and Lulu, the ring-tailed lemurs, each got a pumpkin and festive buckets filled with fresh greens, a fun twist on their typical diet.

Guests can enjoy more seasonal fun at The Florida Aquarium, including the Day of Dead event this weekend (November 1-2), and YuleTides, the Aquarium’s coastal holiday tradition that kicks off on November 28. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit flaquarium.org.
