Become a Florida Aquarium Volunteer Diver! This challenging yet rewarding experience will enhance basic diving skills and give volunteers access to experiences unavailable to most divers. Swim with sharks, rays, fish, eels and so much more while contributing to our guest experience.

Dive volunteers primarily assist with maintenance of our exhibits and clean-up dives. Dive volunteers must be 18+, open water SCUBA certified with 25+ open water dives, and willing and able to make a one-year commitment to our program.

Once an application period is open it will be noted on our website. Due to high demand, not all applicants will be scheduled for training. All of the training will take place in our diverse underwater habitats and most diving equipment is provided. Once scheduled for training, to formally be accepted into the program, volunteers will also need to pass the following:

  • An AAUS dive physical
  • An AAUS swim test
  • A basic dive skills evaluation

If you have any questions about becoming a dive volunteer please contact Chris Tomlinson, Volunteer Dive Coordinator, by emailing ctomlinson@flaquarium.org.
