What is Plan-Ahead Pricing?

The Florida Aquarium launched Plan-Ahead Pricing in July 2018. This new price structure allows our local community and out-of-town visitors the opportunity to visit The Florida Aquarium on a day that best accommodates both their budget and schedule.

We’re excited to make our aquarium more accessible to many audiences and advance our mission to entertain, educate and inspire stewardship of the natural environment.

Why do the prices change every day?

Ticket prices fluctuate based on several factors including weather, day of week, holidays, local events and attendance patterns.

How is the cost of admission determined?

Plan-Ahead Pricing is the result of one year of research and collaboration with expert economists who studied our institution and community. Ticket prices fluctuate based on several factors including weather, day of week, holidays, local events and attendance patterns.  

How do I purchase tickets?

General admission tickets will continue to be available for purchase online and at The Florida Aquarium ticket office. To purchase tickets online:

  1. Visit
  2. Click the Tickets icon
  3. Review the calendar and select a date that works with your budget and schedule 
  4. Enter ticket quantities and click Add to Cart to complete purchase

What do I have access to with a general admission ticket?

You will experience one of the top Aquariums in the country with thousands of amazing sea creatures, terrestrial animals and plants. General admission tickets include access to Aquarium exhibits and The Splash Pad.

Will the cost of parking increase? What about food and concession prices?

No, those prices will not change

How far ahead do I need to purchase tickets in order to save?

We recommend buying tickets online at least one day in advance. Purchasing a ticket online in advance offers the lowest possible price for the date selected to visit. To view a calendar of current ticket prices, please visit the Tickets page on our website.

Are these final prices or is it possible for the price to go down tomorrow?

The current price listed online will always be the most affordable option. It’s possible the price may increase over time, so it’s best to buy your tickets in advance. Ticket prices will be higher at The Florida Aquarium ticket office.

How long is my ticket valid?

The ticket is valid for the date printed on the ticket.

What if I purchased my tickets online in advance but can no longer go?

If you need to exchange your ticket, please call guest services at (813) 273-4201. Beginning July 16, 2018, guests will be required to pay the difference in price depending on the date of visit.

How do I redeem my CityPass? 

Enjoy easy entry using your mobile CityPASS ticket; come inside to the Guest Services desk to secure your timed entry. Advanced reservations are not required for CityPASS guests. Learn more about visiting Tampa Bay’s top 5 attraction at a big savings with CityPASS.

Does Plan-Ahead Pricing affect membership rates?

No, membership rates will remain at an annual rate. Plan-Ahead Pricing only applies to general admission tickets.

How do I receive a refund for my ticket purchase? 

We are happy to reshedule your ticket for another day if necessary. Please email to reschedule your trip to the Aquarium.
