Environmental Stewardship Through Education

Since opening in 1995, The Florida Aquarium has concentrated on the fulfillment of our mission to entertain, educate and inspire stewardship of the natural environment through enriching and engaging STEM educational programming delivered to children and families by professionally trained and compassionate educators. With a focus on underserved communities, The Florida Aquarium seeks to build wonder, empathy and action by opening the eyes of all children to the world outside.

The Carol J. & Barney Barnett Learning Center
Through the generous support of Carol J. & Barney Barnett, this cutting-edge learning center helps take marine and environmental sciences to the next level through active learning. The center’s unique design spans 5,000 square feet and features five flexible learning spaces anchored by a circular common space. Each technology-rich learning space has a distinctive theme to encourage learning.
