Graphic Design Internship

Position Summary

The Florida Aquarium Themed Experiences Graphic Design Internship provides a hands-on, learning-centered experience alongside a team of creative professionals. Interns will gain practical experience designing signage, exhibit graphics, and interpretive materials that support guest learning at a world-class attraction. Through guided projects — ranging from individual graphics and illustrations to full exhibit layouts — interns will build technical skills, strengthen their design process, and learn how creative work supports storytelling and visitor engagement.

This internship is ideal for students with foundational graphic design skills who are eager to grow, receive feedback, and develop professionally in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

Learning Objectives

• Learn to receive, interpret, and execute project requests effectively
• Develop skills in presenting concept designs in preparation for final artwork
• Gain experience setting up accurate and efficient production-ready files

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Assist in developing concept designs while learning creative problem-solving and visual storytelling techniques
• Support the creation of digital and/or traditional production artwork, gaining hands-on experience with industry tools and workflows
• Learn to prepare and organize production-ready files that meet project specifications and professional standards

Desired Qualifications

• Strong graphic design and layout skills, along with a willingness to learn and produce high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment
• Current college sophomore or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and able to follow creative and brand guidelines
• Portfolio or work samples required

Time Commitment

• Three days and up to 24 hours per week.

This internship is unpaid and complies with the Fair Labor Standards Act. Interns must make their own accommodation and transportation arrangements.
