Washed Ashore - Art To Save The Sea

Washed ashore - art to save the sea

In honor of the Aquarium's 25th Anniversary celebration, we are proud to host Washed Ashore - Art To Save The Sea from now until the end of October! The nationally acclaimed exhibit artistically showcases the impacts of plastic pollution on oceans, waterways and wildlife. Washed Ashore sculptures have traveled around the country and The Florida Aquarium is showcasing 18 larger than life sculptures of marine life.

The artwork was created by the non-profit organization WashedAshore.org dedicated to educating about plastic pollution through art. Oregon-based artist and educator Angela Haseltine Pozzi and her team of volunteers constructed each piece from plastic debris collected on West Coast beaches. Bringing together art and conservation, Washed Ashore will visually represent why reducing one-time use plastics is vitally important.

Visit the Aquarium to see these breathtaking pieces of art. The public can view Priscilla the Parrotfish outside the Aquarium and your General Admission Ticket gets you access to the rest of the collection.

Many thanks to The Vinik Family Foundation for the $250,000 donation who made this exhibit possible.
