The Florida Aquarium, in coordination with state and local government and public health officials, is taking the first, careful step in reopening and welcoming you back. In order to safeguard your health and safety, and the health and safety of all our guests, staff, volunteers, and animals, we’ve made some important changes you need to know about before visiting.  


ONLINE RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED for all guests, whether you are a member or first-time visitor.

GENERAL ADMISSION is available now. The Aquarium's hours are 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (open until 9:00 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays for Aqua Nights)

YOUR TIMED TICKET indicates your arrival window. There is no limit to how long you can spend at the Aquarium. 

MASKS ARE REQUIRED for your visit. Children ages 2 and under are not required to wear a mask.

Membership Reservations

WHAT THE FLORIDA AQUARIUM IS DOING TO KEEP YOU SAFE

  • Hourly capacity is limited to provide for physical distancing.
  • Online reservations are REQUIRED to manage capacity limits and minimize touchpoints at the entrance.
  • All Aquarium staff members and volunteers will be required to wear face masks while working. They also have their temperature checked each morning before they start working. 
  • In alginment with CDC guidelines, Aquarium guests are REQUIRED to wear masks. If you do not have a mask when you arrive, one will be provided for you.
  • Additional hand sanitizer stations will be found throughout the Aquarium including at the entry, exit, and restrooms.
  • The Aquarium will maintain its high standards of cleanliness and all high-touch surfaces like windows, railings, restrooms, and elevators will continuously be cleaned.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN PLANNING A VISIT TO THE FLORIDA AQUARIUM

  • The Aquarium will limit the number of guests allowed to visit each day.
  • Online reservations are REQUIRED for all guests and members.
  • We will not accept cash payments for any transactions.  We accept all major credit cards.
  • Members will continue to receive free admission. However, reservations are required due to limited capacity.
  • Reservations can be secured in 30-minute time slots and guests will not be admitted prior to their scheduled time.
  • The Aquarium cannot accommodate members or guests who do not have an online reservation.
  • Groups will be limited to 8 tickets.
  • No discounts can be accommodated at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  • Teacher Study Passes can not be used at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  • Reservations may be canceled or rescheduled up to the reservation time but not after.
  • Members needing assistance making a reservation may the Membership Office at 813-273-4030 
  • Pre-paid parking will be available online during the reservation process and we strongly encourage you to add parking to your reservation. However, Members do not need to reserve in advance and will continue to receive free parking.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE FLORIDA AQUARIUM

  • Parking can be pre-paid during your online reservation. We strongly encourage you to purchase parking in advance and have your barcode ready as you approach the parking booth.
  • Daily capacity is limited to encourage physical distancing.
  • No guest will be admitted to the Aquarium prior to their reservation time.
  • Physical distancing is strongly encouraged and floor graphics in the entry queue will help everyone remain 6 feet apart.
  • Tickets will be scanned at dedicated stations inside the front doors.
  • Additional elevators will be available upon entrance and staff will direct guests if needed.
  • Guests will follow a dedicated, one-way flow throughout the Aquarium.
  • The 4D Theater will not be available.
  • Behind the Scenes Tours, Close up Critter Tours, Shark Dive, Heart of the Sea Swim and other added experiences are currently unavailable.
  • Secret Sealife Superhero and Heart of the Sea Show are currently unavailable. 
  • Stoller and wheelchair rentals will be available.
  • Food service offerings and available seating will be limited.
  • Water fountains will not be available. Guests can bring their own water or purchase single-serve beverages.
  • Café Ray and Gift Shop will limit the number of guests allowed in them at any time.
  • Bathrooms will be available throughout the Aquarium and we encourage guests to maintain physical distancing while accessing them.

 

The Florida Aquarium has Infection Prevention Approval by Tampa General Hospital.
