We are excited to SEA you!

The Florida Aquarium has taken robust measures to safeguard your health, and the health and safety of other guests, our staff and our animals. As a scientific organization, we continue to adhere to strict wellness guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and our healthcare partners at Tampa General Hospital and USF Health.  

All guests must follow all posted instructions while visiting The Florida Aquarium, adhering to our current policies:







  • Hourly capacity is limited to provide for physical distancing.
  • Online reservations are REQUIRED to manage capacity limits and minimize touchpoints at the entrance.
  • Reservations can be secured in 30-minute time slots and guests will not be admitted prior to their scheduled time.
  • Groups will be limited to 8 tickets.
  • All Aquarium staff members and volunteers will be required to wear face masks while working. They also have their temperature checked each morning before they start working. 
  • All Aquarium guests are REQUIRED to wear masks (ages 3 and up) without exemption.
  • In an abundance of caution, as the State of Florida begins to provide vaccinations, masks will be required by all guests at The Florida Aquarium until further notice.
  • Physical distancing is strongly encouraged and floor graphics in the entry queue will help everyone remain 6 feet apart.
  • Additional hand sanitizer stations will be found throughout the Aquarium including at the entry, exit, and restrooms.
  • The Aquarium will maintain its high standards of cleanliness and all high-touch surfaces like windows, railings, restrooms, and elevators will continuously be cleaned.
  • We will not accept cash payments for any transactions.  We accept all major credit cards.
  • Pre-paid parking will be available online during the reservation process and we strongly encourage you to add parking to your reservation. However, Members do not need to reserve in advance and will continue to receive free parking.
  • CityPASS may be used to visit the Aquarium. Enjoy easy entry using your mobile CityPASS ticket; come inside to the Guest Services desk to secure your timed entry. 
  • The 4D Theater is open with limited capacity and showings.
  • Behind the Scenes Tours, Close up Critter Tours, Shark Dive, Heart of the Sea Swim and other added experiences are currently unavailable.
  • Secret Sealife Superhero and Heart of the Sea Show are currently unavailable.
  • Stroller and wheelchair rentals will be available.
  • Food service offerings and available seating will be limited.
  • Guests should remain stationary while eating or drinking. This meaning that you should only be eating or drinking when sitting/standing at a safe distance (6ft) from other Guests.  
  • We do not allow Guests to actively eat or drink while walking through the gallery pathways. Designated areas for Guests to eat or drink are Café Ray, Outdoor Pavilion, Rooftop Pavilion, Mosaic Center, CIBC Aquatic Lounge and while on board the Bay Spirit II.
  • Water fountains will not be available. Guests can bring their own water or purchase single-serve beverages.
  • Café Ray and Gift Shop will limit the number of guests allowed in them at any time.
  • Bathrooms will be available throughout the Aquarium and we encourage guests to maintain physical distancing while accessing them.


The Florida Aquarium has Infection Prevention Approval by Tampa General Hospital.
