Making Waves Society

make waves instead of riding them

The Florida Aquarium’s Making Waves Society (MWS) is comprised of young professionals from Tampa Bay who share a common passion for conservation and wildlife. Our mission is to immerse MWS members with professional engagement through volunteering, networking and leadership opportunities. We also hold member social events with the Aquarium’s Board of Directors, senior leadership team, and donors, while providing philanthropic support to advance the mission of The Florida Aquarium.

Together, we will raise funds and develop friends to ensure the Aquarium continues to thrive for years to come. Help us protect & restore our blue planet.

Present on Purpose

Leverage Your Leadership Presence for Maximum Impact

The time has come, all eyes are fixed on you, so you take a deep breath, stand, and then…what happens next? How do you channel your preparation, perspiration, and potential into delivering an outstanding presentation? Whether you are an emerging, experienced, or executive leader, presentation and speaking skills are critical in your career journey.

Now is the time to take a step back and compile a foundation of solid tactics and strategies for this life-long skill that will continue to grow and evolve as you do. You can fully own and leverage each moment in front of an audience – whether planned or impromptu – to drive business results and maximize your impact as a leader.

• Strengthen presentation skills by properly preparing each presentation for the audience

• Channel your nerves and manage anxiety to appear calm, poised and confident

• Learn how speaking skills enhance your individual, authentic, leadership presence
