Adult Volunteers

Whether it's sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with our guests, assisting in the care of our animals, or supporting our daily operations, there are so many ways to get involved with the amazing education and conservation work The Florida Aquarium is doing! Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and commit to a minimum of six months, with eight hours per month in our volunteer program.  

Education: Interact and share information with guests at our touch tanks and along our exhibit pathway.

Horticulture: Assist with maintaining our breathtaking vegetation both inside and outside the Aquarium.

Husbandry: Work alongside Aquarium staff to maintain our exhibits and care for our animals.

Dive: Assist with the maintenance of ;Aquarium exhibits, interact with our guests, and assist in keeping our bays, beaches, and other local waterways clean. Must be SCUBA certified. 

Cownose Cove (located at Tampa Electric's Manatee Viewing Center in Apollo Beach): Interact with and educate guests and other team members at The Florida Aquarium's Cownose Cove exhibit at Tampa Electric's Manatee Viewing Center in Apollo Beach, Florida. Opportunities for volunteering at our Manatee Viewing Center will become available in late summer/early fall 2019.
