Teen Volunteers

An exciting and inspiring place to volunteer

Want to share your knowledge and passion for marine biology and the environment with others? High school students are encouraged to apply for The Florida Aquarium Teen Education Volunteer programs! Teen Education Volunteers will receive training about the animals in our many exhibits and our natural world while gaining essential workplace skills. Participants may also aid in future education and employment possibilities in marine biology and informal education.

- Teen Education Volunteers

Students involved in the year-round program must be 16 years of age or older and are expected to volunteer a minimum of 8 hours per month for at least six consecutive months. These teen education volunteers will interact and share information with our guests at our touch pools and along our exhibit path. Teen education volunteers may begin in the fall, spring, or summer terms!

SUMMER PROGRAM - Junior Educators

Students involved in the summer program must be high school students between the ages of 14-17 and must commit to serving the entire summer, in addition to completing a rigorous application process and attending training sessions before the summer begins. Junior Educators will have a regular weekly schedule consisting of two full-day shifts per week - one day on our public pathway, the other day with our AquaCamps day camps.

If you have any questions about becoming a teen volunteer please contact Rebecca Hughes, Education Volunteer Coordinator at rhughes@flaquarium.org.
