AQUARIUM AMBASSADOR
Our aquarium ambassadors are the face of the aquarium. They direct guest around the facility, answer questions about programs and animals, teach the public about conservation, and help us provide excellent customer service. Volunteers in this position will be trained on animal life history facts and animal identification.

DIVE OPERATIONS
Assist with the underwater maintenance of the exhibits, underwater archeology, ship wreck surveys, guest dive programs or star in one of our daily dive shows. Our volunteer diving program offers one of a kind training for new or seasoned divers.

EVENTS
Event volunteers help us make unforgettable experiences for our guests. These volunteers promote the aquarium during evening events, greet and guide guests as they enter, act as gallery hosts and assist the event coordinators.. These positions are great for outgoing, customer service oriented people.
- EDUCATION
Volunteers in the education department work as gallery hosts answering questions and sharing the natural history of Florida with our guests. These volunteers staff our "hands-on" touch tanks exhibits allowing guests the opportunity to meet some of our oceans most unique animals up close.

GUEST SERVICES
As one of our front line staff you will be the first ones to greet guests and inform them about the incredible experiences we offer at the aquarium. Assist the Guest Services team in answering questions, taking tickets, greeting school groups and adding value to the guest experience.

MARKETING / PUBLIC RELATIONS
Marketing volunteers help promote events, implement marketing strategies and assist with advertising for the aquarium. This active and creative team is the backbone for driving attendance and informing the public about our organization.

HUSBANDRY
Husbandry volunteers assist biologists with the care and maintenance of our living biological collection. This department has a wide variety of opportunities including cleaning animal exhibits, preparing diets, feeding animals, testing the exhibit water, presenting animal shows and providing veterinary care. This department is also responsible for preparing the aquarium galleries for opening on a daily basis.

HORTICULTURE
Horticultural volunteers assist our facility horticulturist with the daily and weekly maintenance of our living botanical collection. They water plants, prune and plant the wetlands gallery, assist with beneficial insect releases and maintain the aquarium’s hydro farm!

LIBRARY
Library volunteers will help our research team build a user-friendly library out of its growing research literature collection. This position works with the goal of making knowledge-based resources accessible and available to the team members of The Florida Aquarium. These volunteers will organize and catalog literature, help develop a check-out system and help present training to staff members.
