Florida Aquarium Volunteers


The Florida Aquarium’s volunteer program is designed to allow individuals the opportunity to get involved in the education and conservation work that The Florida Aquarium does on a daily basis! Being a Volunteer at The Florida Aquarium is a satisfying and rewarding experience. Whether you are a busy executive and just want a change of pace, are retired and looking for an organization helping the community, environment and our children, or are a college student seeking experience in a marine biology and education setting, there is an option that is right for you!  

How do I become a Florida Aquarium volunteer?

With a thriving and dedicated volunteer team of nearly 300 active volunteers, The Florida Aquarium is currently accepting volunteers as availability arises. If you would like to become a Florida Aquarium volunteer, please contact our Manager of Volunteer Services at with your schedule availability and desired position.   

Volunteer Positions

The Florida Aquarium offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities ensuring that there is an option that is right for everyone! For a complete listing of all of our volunteer positions and what they entail, check out our Position Descriptions.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • 16 years of age or older
  • An open and active email account
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Must be willing to commit a minimum of 6 months to the volunteer program
  • Must be willing to volunteer a minimum of 8 hours per month
  • Submit a $30 registration fee to cover the cost of uniform, materials, etc.

The Florida Aquarium has an extensive group of volunteer divers constantly assisting with regular maintenance of exhibits in the aquarium. Our volunteer divers also assist with daily dive shows, special event dives, and Guest Dive Programs. 

Conservation Volunteer

Each year The Florida Aquarium hosts a number of clean-ups to support our vision and conservation efforts for which we need additional volunteers. These positions require no special training and are a great opportunity to get involved in the conservation projects that we are undertaking!
