Safety & Security Officer

The Florida Aquarium is currently accepting applications for Part-Time Security Officer positions for the second shift (4pm-12am)

Job duties include but not limited to: Ensuring the safety of the guests and personnel; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry; assisting with the School Group Entrance and ensuring quality customer service delivery.
Security license not required. The Florida Aquarium is monitored by security 24 hours a day.  
Must be available weekends and holidays. Pay rate is $8.75 an hour.

Environmental Services Floor Technician

The Florida Aquarium is currently accepting applications for Environmental Services Floor Technicians.
Candidates must demonstrate their ability to use floor cleaning machines; position is responsible for maintaining carpet, tile and floors; for keeping all areas of the aquarium clean, to include restrooms, lobby, guest areas, offices, parking lot and other assigned areas.
Work hours are 4pm-12am, but applicants must be flexible with their work schedule and available weekends and holidays. Pay rate is $8.50 an hour. Benefits offered after successful completion of 90 days.

Advancement Coordinator

The Florida Aquarium is currently accepting applications for a Non-Exempt, Full-Time Advancement Coordinator.  This position is responsible for providing support to the Advancement Department in the cultivation and stewardship of our donors.  This position is also the primary person responsible for database management of donor records, files and prospects. The person in this position will also conduct research on current and prospective donors; assist the Advancement Department with daily fundraising activities to include management coordination and coordinating donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities and participate in the development of fundraising strategies.

Education Volunteer Coordinator

The Education Department at The Florida Aquarium seeks a motivated, passionate leader who will be responsible for recruitment, training, mentoring, scheduling, and coordination of Education volunteers while expanding the program to meet the growing needs of visitor engagement. The Position is also responsible for instruction of programs focusing on Florida’s ecosystems in the Aquarium, including exhibits, galleries, interpretive stations, microphone presentations, tours, and touch tanks. He/she must maintain current knowledge of programming for various audiences as well as animal handling protocols while ensuring guest interactions are engaging, innovative, and effective. Candidates must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed, with the standard schedule as Tuesday through Saturday. Candidates should have a degree in education, human resources or related discipline (or have significant relevant work experience), have experience working with children and volunteers, and display exemplary team work and customer service skills. Public speaking skills are required.

Part-Time Explore-A-Shore Associates

Join our team of exceptional Customer Service Associates working in our children’s outdoor water play area.  Responsible for monitoring the area ensuring safety standards are enforced; inspect all areas to insure cleanliness and readiness for guest arrival.  Must be outgoing, friendly and flexible with days worked.  Prior experience working with children a plus. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
Pay rate is $8.50 an hour.

Part-Time Admission Associates

The Florida Aquarium in Tampa seeks a dynamic and customer service focused individual to participate in the daily operation of the admissions, ticketing and parking lot areas. Computer controlled ticketing and attraction experience preferred.  Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Pay rate is $8.25 an hour.


Senior Education Presenter

The Education Department at The Florida Aquarium seeks a motivated, passionate leader who will be responsible for supervising Education Presenters while serving as a model for best practices in delivering engaging presentations to Aquarium visitors. Responsible for expanding the program to meet the growing needs of visitor engagement. Also responsible for instruction of programs focusing on Florida’s ecosystems in the Aquarium, including microphone-based presentations and shows, exhibit talks, gallery walks, interpretive carts, dive programs tours, and other public presentations. Directly supervises staff who deliver shows and presentations on the exhibit pathway, including hiring, managing, and mentoring dynamic presenters. Responsible for content development and coordination of public programs including scheduling and daily supervision of gallery programs, presenters, interns, and volunteers. 
This is a full-time position with benefits offered after successful completion of 90 days. Normal work schedule is Sun-Thurs.

Graphic Designer

The Florida Aquarium seeks a dynamic and self-motivated team player for our Exhibit Design department. This position is responsible for creating graphics that are part of an engaging visitor experience. The position involves teamwork to develop preliminary design concepts for all 3-D and 2-D elements. The individual will also work independently and be responsible for all aspects and details of assigned projects. 
Education Requirements and Technical Skills: Minimum three years experience as an exhibit / graphic designer practicing the principles, and procedures of design and production of exhibit experiences; Bachelor degree in design or related field OR at least 5 years work experience in environmental design, art, graphic production or desktop publishing; Strong technical and design ability in a Mac environment: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Sketch-Up and Premiere Pro.  Traditional art skills, illustration, photography, etc. are a plus.
