The Coral Reef Gallery in Tampa is a one-of-a-kind view into one of the most beautiful and diverse ecosystems in the world - a habitat normally explored only by experienced divers.
The coral reef gallery simulates a 60-foot dive starting in shallow-water reefs and descending to deeper waters. Each viewing window presents a micro habitat which changes as the depth increases.
The coral reef exhibit is modeled after the coral formations of the Dry Tortugas off the Florida Keys. Housed in a 500,000 gallon tank, the coral reef provides the base for this vibrant community of more than 2,000 coral reef residents, representing 100 species, many native to Florida.
Each day, guests can Swim with the Fishes or Dive with the Sharks on either the shallow or deep side of this massive tank. Decide for yourselves which animal is the main attraction: large sand tiger sharks up to 10 feet long, Flip the endangered green sea turtle or YOU our guests!
