This 4 to 8 week program is designed for fourth-year veterinary students wanting to expand their knowledge and experience in exotic animal and aquatic medicine. Externs will be given a wide range of opportunities in aquatic medicine which includes, fresh and saltwater fish, birds, otters, penguins, sea turtles, other reptiles and animal quarantine procedures.
We select 2-4 students during their junior or third year for participation during their senior or fourth year. The program runs for a minimum of 4 weeks but students who can participate for 6-8 weeks will be preferred. Students will be required to work 40 hours per week.
*This externship is on a volunteer basis only and students must arrange for their own transportation and living arrangements.
How To Apply
Applications will be accepted between Sept 1, 2013 and November 15, 2013. Notification of acceptance will be available by January 15th, 2014. Selections made in January will be effective for the 2014-2015 school year.
