Volunteer Divemasters

The Florida Aquarium offers two guided, in-water experiences for our guests—Dive with the Sharks and Swim with the Fishes.

Because you will be leading other divers in the water, assisting with these daily programs does require you to be a card holding divemaster or instructor with a recognized SCUBA training agency.
Our Dive Operations staff, including volunteer divemasters, is responsible for running the in-water and dry side support for these programs, as well as all affiliated tasks.

Becoming a member of our Guest Dive Experiences team requires extensive training beyond the introductory Scientific Aquarium Diver course, and therefore we are looking for only the most professional and committed volunteers to fill this incredibly rewarding role.
If you are interested in assisting with the Guest Dive Experiences, you must first complete our Scientific Aquarium Diver Course, accumulate 24 hours of bottom time with The Aquarium, and participate in an interview. Not all applicants will be accepted in to this portion of the program.

If you have additional questions about volunteering with our Guest Dive Experiences, please join us for one of our upcoming New Diver Orientation Sessions.
