Graphic Designer I 

The Florida Aquarium seeks a dynamic and self-motivated team player for our Exhibit Design department.  This position is responsible for creating graphic solutions for a variety of products and activities, such as interpretive panels, posters, banners, brochures and exhibits that are part of an engaging visitor experience. The position involves teamwork to develop preliminary design concepts for all 3-D and 2-D elements. The individual will also work independently and be responsible for all aspects and details of assigned projects. 
Education Requirements and Technical Skills: Minimum two years’ experience as a graphic designer practicing the principles and procedures of design and production of large scale graphics; Bachelor degree in design or related field OR at least 2 years work experience in art, graphic production or desktop publishing; Proficiency in a Mac environment: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator programs.  Also, strong graphic design skills in typography and composition.

Part-Time Dive Master

Come join our Dive Master Team! This position works with our dive team creating memorable experiences for our dive guests.  You will be responsible for guest dive experience programs in a safety diver capacity; supervising the in water safety of children; serving as a greeter for Shark Dive Experience to include greeting guests, giving presentations, and gathering registration paperwork; preparing guest dive experience equipment and materials; performing routine and as needed equipment repairs and cleaning and securing equipment at the end of each shift and maintaining your current dive certifications.  
Requirements:  
Dive Master or equivalent from a nationally recognized SCUBA training organization – Instructor Certification a plus
Previous experience operating or working on boats preferred
Current certification in First Aid, CPR and Oxygen administration
Underwater liability insurance required
Good presentation and public speaking skills
Previous experience diving with sharks preferred
Previous experience working with children’s water safety programs a plus
Benefits include:

Reimbursement of PADI or NAUI membership dues up to the dive master level
Pay rate is $9.50 an hour

Floor Technician

The Florida Aquarium is currently accepting applications for a customer service focused, full time Floor Technician on the night shift.
Applicant must demonstrate ability to use floor cleaning machine.
This position is responsible for maintaining the appearance of all of the aquarium's hard and soft floor surfaces (carpet, tile, etc) and will assist in the cleaning of all areas of the aquarium as assigned.
Applicant must be flexible and able to work weekends and holidays. This position is full-time, non-exempt and benefits are offered after successful completion of the 90 day probationary period. Pay rate is $8.75 an hour.

Bay Spirit II Boat Crew Member

The Florida Aquarium is currently accepting applications for a part-time and a full-time Bay Spirit II Boat Crew Member .
These positions assist in operations of the Eco-Tour around the bay and performs routine maintenance on the vessel while in port. Complete all morning, housekeeping duties, assists in the operation of the vessel while at sea and completes other duties as assigned by the Captain of the day.  All Bay Spirit II tours are conducted to ensure that all programming presented is engaging, innovative and effective as determined by evaluation, and in direct support of The Florida Aquarium's mission.
Requirements: High School Diploma (or appropriate technical/vocational training at an equivalent rate); one year's experience as a Crew member on a public excursion vessel; full-time position requires Dive Master certification or equivalent from a nationally recognized SCUBA training organization (Instructor Certification preferred); for the part-time position, Dive Master Certification is a plus; current First Aid and CPR certifications and proficient with Microsoft Office software.
Part-time schedule is primarily Saturday, Sunday and Monday; both positions require flexibility and may require working holidays and evenings as needed.

Part-Time Groundskeeper

The Florida Aquarium is currently accepting applications for a part-time Groundskeeper.
This position is responsible for preparing The Florida Aquarium grounds, parking lot, front entrance area, immediate Wharf area and Explore-A-Shore area to include decks and balconies, before operating hours begin at 9:30am.
Duties include, but are not limited to, trash pickup, using a leaf blower, performing minor repairs and projects, pressure washing, weed pulling, equipment cleaning and other duties required by the Operations Manager to meet business needs.
Skills required: Ability to identify and fix minor equipment issues, ability to report items that need repair work done; ability to be a self-starter and identify daily, weekly, monthly and long range goals and work assignments.
Schedule is Tuesday-Saturday 7:00am-12:00pm/1:00pm with one fifteen minute break. Work schedule can vary to include weekends, holidays and events. Schedule will be set every Wednesday for the following week.
Pay rate: $9.00 an hour

Seasonal Explore-A-Shore Associates

Join our team of exceptional customer service associates working in our children’s outdoor water play area.  Responsible for monitoring the area ensuring safety standards are enforced. Inspect all areas to insure cleanliness and readiness for guest arrival.  Must be outgoing, friendly and flexible with days worked.  Prior experience working with children a plus.  
Pay rate is $8.75 an hour.

Associate Curator - Quarantine

Responsible for assisting the Director of Animal Health and the Biological Operations leadership in leading a diverse team of Biologists to achieve The Florida Aquarium’s mission to entertain, educate and inspire stewardship about our natural environment  by exemplifying the aquarium’s values of respect, trust and excellence. Supervises and directly works with the staff that maintain and provide daily care to the aquarium’s aquatic and terrestrial quarantine and medical holding systems. Performs essential job functions in accordance with the guidelines set and approved by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and other safety regulatory agencies. Minimum of five years husbandry experience in an aquarium, zoo or related field. Four year degree or equivalent experience. Open water SCUBA certification with the ability to obtain Rescue Diver certification within 6 months of hire. Education Presenter

The Florida Aquarium is currently accepting applications for a full-time Education Presenter to join our team.
This position is responsible for the delivery of public presentations in all areas of the aquarium and eco-tour vessel, primarily dive shows, fee-based tours, and Bay Spirit II eco-tours, as well as assisting with exhibit talks, gallery walks, activity carts, animal encounters, and touch tanks. Ensures all programming presented is engaging, innovative and effective, as determined by evaluation, and in direct support of the mission of The Florida Aquarium. Passion for children, animals, the environment, and teaching is a must. Candidates must be available to work on weekends, holidays and occasional evening shifts. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in education, environmental studies or related discipline, have experience working with children and volunteers, display exemplary team work and customer service skills.  Public speaking skills are required.

Reservationist

The Florida Aquarium is currently accepting applications for a Reservationist to work within the Education Department.
This position is responsible for answering all incoming school reservations calls and community programs reservations, quoting appropriate rates based on specific needs. Reserving programs and program spaces for education and for the guest dive programs.
Education Requirements and Technical Skills:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent ; two years College or work experience preferred; typing speed of 40 wpm; working knowledge of Windows environment; knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and database programs; knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook) is a plus; ability to learn and work in a windows based reservations program; ability to learn a web based on line registration program.
