Job Title:  Summer AquaCamp On-location Instructor    

Salary:      $12.00 per hour

Description:  Create and teach a fun summer camp experience for children K – 3rd grades.  Camps include crafts, games, science experiments, Aquarium visits, field trips, and animal encounters.  Instructors are responsible for developing fun activities that correspond to the camp theme and animal encounters. 

Requirements:  Certified teacher or informal education experience with teaching elementary students for at least 1 year. Experience in marine science, elementary science and outdoor education is an advantage.

Full time, Monday – Friday, 4 or more weeks, May 29th- August 4th, 2017.


 

Job Title:  Summer AquaCamp Travel Instructor

Salary:     $12.00 per hour

Description:  Travel with campers to natural areas around Tampa Bay.  Work with vendors to create and teach a fun and safe summer camp experience for children 4-8th grades.  Camps include a variety of field explorations, boat and snorkeling trips.  Instructors are responsible for activities at each location and having a plan in place for rainy day activities while maintaining a fun, safe experience for campers. 

Requirements:  Certified teacher or informal education experience with teaching middle or high school students for at least 1 year.  Comfortable in a variety of outdoor settings.  Experience in marine science, middle/high science and outdoor education is an advantage.

Full time, Monday – Friday, 4 or more weeks, May 29th- August 4th, 2017.


 

Job title: What’s In Your Watershed Instructor

Salary:             $12.00 per hour

Description:     Instructor for grant funded summer camp entitled “What’s In Your Watershed”.  Underserved youth from the Tampa area attend camp for one week at a time to learn about the local watershed, water conservation and water quality.  Campers will travel to The Florida Aquarium and local parks along the path of the Hillsborough River.

Requirements: Certified teacher or informal education experience with teaching elementary students for at least 1 year. Experience in marine science, elementary science and outdoor education is an advantage.

Full time, Monday – Friday, 5 weeks, May 29th- August 4th, 2017.



Job title: Summer AquaCamp 5-6 Year Old Instructor

Salary:             $12.00 per hour

Description:     Create and teach a fun summer camp experience for children 5-6 years old.  Camps include crafts, games, science experiments, Aquarium visits, field trips, and animal encounters.  Instructors are responsible for developing fun activities that correspond to the camp theme and animal encounters. 

Requirements:  Certified teacher or informal education experience with teaching VPK or elementary students for at least 1 year. Experience in marine science, elementary science and outdoor education is an advantage.

Full time, Monday – Friday, 4 or more weeks, May 29th- August 4th, 2017.


 

Job Title:  Summer AquaCamp On-location Counselor

Salary:             $9.25 per hour

Description:  Assist students and instructors with activities during summer AquaCamps at the Aquarium and on field trip days.  Be responsible and assist instructor as needed with student safety and behavior.  Assist in supervising lunch and morning or afternoon extended care.

Requirements: experience working with children, ability to support instructor with limited direction, must be responsible and dependable. 

Full-time, Monday – Friday, 4 or more weeks, May 29th- August 4th, 2017.
