Membership Manager

Responsible for creating, developing and implementing the general membership of The Florida Aquarium.  Designs and directs  membership solicitation and fulfillment process and develops growth strategies, including recognition programs.  Overall responsibility of database system, including data integrity, entry and acknowledgement procedures, and all reports, lists, and mailings needed by the insitution.  Responsible for assisting in the ascending pipeline of members to donors, working closely with the Advancement team.  Click here for complete job description.

Environmental Services Nights Associate

HVAC Technician
Responsible for the efficient operation, as well as preventive and corrective maintenance programs of all facility and life-support systems,  through-out the complex.  Primary responsibilities are in the HVAC Mechanical areas.  Have current Refrigerant Usage Certification, Able to trouble shoot  Chillers and heat pumps air and water cooled from 1 ton to 10 ton. Reclaim refrigerant and pull vacuums on systems. Replace compressors and associated parts. Landscape Asssistant
Responsible for working as a team in the installation and maintenance of a botanical collection of Florida native species in naturalistic habitats using environmentally responsible husbandry practices in indoor and outdoor exhibits.  Performs general lawn, landscape, and nursery maintenance.  Supports senior horticulturist in achieving goals.  Click here for complete job description.

Coral Biologist
Work on the Center for Conservation (CFC) Team to achieve The Florida Aquarium’s mission to protect and restore our blue planet.  Directly care for the CFC’s collection of Western Atlantic coral species and other marine invertebrates, as well as future acquisitions of sea turtles, fish, and elasmobranchs.  Work closely with veterinary staff to provide excellent standards of animal care.  Interface regularly with staff from partner organizations including the University of Florida, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the Tampa Electric Company.    Perform essential and secondary job functions in accordance with guidelines set and approved by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and other safety regulatory agencies.  Click here for complete job description.

Architectural Designer

Senior Biologist - DOME

Director of Advancement

Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, the Director of Advancement will direct and oversee the coordination and implementation of the Major Gift and Corporate Sponsorship programs for the Aquarium. In addition, the Director of Advancement will be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of individual major gift prospects, and meeting goals for contributions with an emphasis on recruiting new high level Aquarist Circle donors. The position will create and sustain relations with a base of regular, renewable donors to the Aquarium’s programs, projects and priorities. The Director of Advancement will also develop, implement and solicit gifts for the Corporate Sponsorship Program and is expected to follow moves management in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts for both individuals and corporations.

Full-Time/Part-Time Dive Master/Captain
 
Florida Aquarium Divemaster/Captains are responsible for executing all aspects of Marine Operations Guest Experiences and off-site work for the Florida Aquarium.  Guest Experience programs provide a dynamic opportunity to inspire our guest by providing them in-and on-water experiences.  Team members execute daily dive shows, Guest Dive Experiences, Bay Sprit II tours and off-site excursions, working in conjunction with members of other departments to connect our guest to our mission.   Team members also support our exhibit maintenance program, as well as support scientific diving/boating in the field.  A Captain with the Marine Operations Department must fill roles as the captain and crew of the Bay Spirit II and the Miss Bee Gee in both Tampa Bay and offshore waters.  Bay Spirit II captains Captains are USCG Master licensed operators who are responsible for maintaining and safely operating the Bay Spirit II for all public and private charters, and are responsible for the safety of up to 149 passengers and 10 crew members on any tour.  Captains are also able to support operating the Miss Bee Gee for field operations in Tampa Bay and offshore waters.   All Florida Aquarium programs are conducted to ensure that all programming presented is safe, engaging, innovative, and effective, as determined by annual evaluation and in direct support of the mission of The Florida Aquarium. Click here for complete job description.

Event Assistant
The responsibilities of the Event Assistant include assisting with the set up and break down of FLAQ owned furniture before and after a special event and ensuring an accurate count of guests entering the facility for a special event.  Door greeters may also be asked to work in the positions of parking booth attendant and turnstiles as needed.  Door greeters are the first impression for special event guests and must be able to deliver great customer service to every guest who enters and exits the facility.  Must have the ability to accurately communicate with the Events Coordinators and/or Aramark of any issues that arise during the event.  Door greeters must be friendly, courteous to guests, and able to deliver excellent customer service at all times.  This position may require lifting of heavy objects and working outdoors in all weather conditions. Guest Services Associate - PT and/or seasonal
Guest Service Associates fill all roles in the Guest Services department, including (but not limited to) the parking booth, ticket sales, turnstiles, Splash Pad, and monitoring the Guest Services desk, as well as any other positions as necessary.  GSAs must have excellent customer service skills and ability to handle a face-paced working environment and high stress situations with tact.  They must maintain a basic knowledge of the facility daily show schedule and have the ability to answer any guest questions.  GSAs must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written.  Flexible schedule including holidays, weekends, and nights.  Will perform other duties as assigned.  For this part-time position we ask that applicants provide us with at least three full days of availability for scheduling.  We also ask that or applicants have reliable transportation. 

The pay rate is $9.50 per hour.
