Whether it's sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with our guests, assisting in the care of our animals, or supporting our daily operations, there are so many ways to get involved with the amazing education and conservation work The Florida Aquarium is doing!
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and commit to a minimum of six months, with eight hours per month in our volunteer program. After contacting our Manager of Volunteer Services, volunteers will attend an informational session, be scheduled an orientation, and become familiar with our Aquarium, our team, and our Mission, Vision and Values. A $30 registration fee will be collected at the volunteer orientation and covers the cost of the uniform, nametag, and training materials.
Education: Interact and share information with guests at our touch tanks and along our exhibit pathway.
Horticulture: Assist with maintaining our breathtaking vegetation both inside and outside the Aquarium.
Guest Services: Be among the first to greet our guests and inform them about the incredible experiences we have to offer at the Aquarium.
Husbandry: Work alongside Aquarium staff to maintain our exhibits and care for our animals.
Dive: Assist with the maintenance of Aquarium exhibits, interact with our guests, and assist in keeping our bays, beaches, and other local waterways clean. Must be SCUBA certified.
Eco-Tour: Assist the crew of our Bay Spirit II by monitoring guest safety, watching for dolphins, and interacting with guests during the tours.
Manatee Viewing Center (Seasonal): Engage guests at the stingray touch tank at the Manatee Viewing Center in Apollo Beach. Positions are limited.
