Teen Volunteers


Looking for an exciting and inspiring place
to volunteer? Want to share your knowledge
and passion for marine biology and the
environment with others? High school students are encouraged to apply for The Florida Aquarium Teen Education Volunteer programs!

Teen Education Volunteers will receive training about the animals in our many exhibits and our natural world while gaining essential workplace skills. These programs are recommended for responsible, hardworking students seeking valuable volunteer experience. Participation may also aid in future education and employment possibilities in marine biology and informal education. 

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAM - Teen Education Volunteers
Students involved in the year-round program must be 16 years of age or older and are expected to volunteer a minimum of 8 hours per month for at least 6 consecutive months. These Teen Education Volunteers will interact and share information with our guests at our touch tanks and along our exhibit pathway. Teen Education Volunteers may begin in the Fall, Spring, or Summer terms! The application for this position can be found here.

SUMMER PROGRAM - Junior Educators
Students involved in the summer program must be high school students between the ages of 14 and 17 and must commit to serving the entire summer, in addition to completing a rigorous application process and attending training sessions before the summer begins. Junior Educators will have a regular weekly schedule consisting of two full-day shifts per week -  one day on our public pathway, the other day with our AquaCamps day camps.
