Meet Our New President and Chief Executive Officer

Tampa, Fla. — (May 8, 2017) Today Chairman of The Florida Aquarium Board of Directors Mark Watson announced that their Search Committee has chosen Roger Germann to be the organization’s next president and chief executive officer. Previously Executive Vice President and 16-year veteran at the John G. Shedd Aquarium and U.S. EPA Great Lakes Advisory Board Member, Germann will assume his post June 5, 2017.

The Florida Aquarium President and CEO Thom Stork Leaves Tampa with a Marine Legacy

Tampa, Fla. (date) —The Florida Aquarium Board, staff and volunteers are mourning the loss of our esteemed and much loved President and CEO, Thom Stork, who, after a valiant fight, succumbed to his battle with cancer yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time.

(Day 7) Shark Research with OCEARCH

Hi all! This is Kathy Heym from The Florida Aquarium on day seven of Expedition North Carolina with OCEARCH! Unfortunately, the wind that kicked up last night hasn't abated, and the marine forecast doesn't appear to look promising for the rest of the expedition, so we're heading back to shore this morning for what has now become the final day of the trip.
